Jose Galicot was born in Santa Barbara, Chihuahua, Mexico, and has lived in Tijuana, B.C. since he was 5 years old. He is a Civil Engineer from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico and an Economist from the Universidad Autonoma de Baja California.

Recognized businessman who has excelled in activities such as journalism, writing, and philanthropic actions in different areas, having received multiple awards.

In 2010 he created Tijuana Innovadora, an event of international scope that served as an engine to change the negative image of the city around the world, and in 2015 became a platform for social innovation that implements programs in four areas of influence: Art and Culture, Innovation and Leadership, Prevention of Violence and Sustainability.
