Francisco “Tico” Orozco, was born in Tijuana, B.C, Mexico. He graduated with a degree in Cultural Management from the University of Guadalajara and has received specialized training in fields such as culture of peace, citizen security and human rights.

Tico has served as the Head of Cultural Promotion of the Institute of Culture of Baja California, Manager of Artistic Promotion of the Tijuana Cultural Center, and the General Manager of the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City. Additionally, he has produced several audiovisual projects that have received much acclaim.

Tico is currently the Director of Casa de Las Ideas (House of Ideas) at Tijuana Innovadora. Casa de Las Ideas is purposefully located in Camino Verde, a neighborhood of Tijuana where there is a high need for Casa de Las Idea’s specialty: a focus on violence and crime prevention by using various forms of creative arts as a tool for social transformation.

Tico has been recognized by the Salinas Group as the Citizen of the Year 2017 and was a special lecturer at TEDx Tijuana in 2019.
